About me
My practice is grounded in the Scandinavian tradition—where restraint, craft, and emotional depth converge—but continually shaped by the textures, tones, and atmospheres encountered on my travels through Japan, Bali, and Marrakech.
Influenced as much by the functional elegance of Aalto and Asplund as by the narrative depth of Ibsen or the visual poetry of Bergman, I seek to create works that invite stillness and reflection. My paintings explore contrast and balance—structure and spontaneity, opacity and translucency—through layered compositions that evolve over time.
While my foundation lies in the elevated tones of fine art, my approach is equally rooted in the base notes of design and craft: a commitment to purposeful making, quiet clarity, and the enduring power of the handmade.
