Nordic contemporary art BY Sarah Millerton

I am a Swedish artist based between Copenhagen and southern Sweden, working with acrylics, oils, and inks on canvas. My abstract work blends Nordic minimalism with inspiration from travels to Japan, Marrakech, and Bali.

I create commissioned pieces for both private and corporate clients, and my paintings have been exhibited across Denmark and Sweden. Each work is a study in tone, texture, and emotion—intuitive, layered, and made to last.

Studio visits and commission enquiries are always welcome.

Inspired by japan

Ikigai 生き甲斐 is one of the concepts I keep returning to. It means something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for being. My art gives me a sense of purpose and my mind paints all the time, when I sleep, when I walk, when I see an inspiring colour combination.

My challenge as an artist is moving from the intuitive to a different sense of awareness where I reflect and create in sync.

Inspiration

I get inspired from travels, colour, food, scents… A recent trip to Morocco brought dreams of deserts and a mini-series of painings depicting the landscape and people.
